Australian colleges and universities offer a wide range of courses in different levels of qualifications from certificates through to PhDs. The length of different programs are different - Certificate (6 - 18 months), Diploma (1.5 - 3 years), Bachelors Degree (3 - 5 years), Graduate Certificate (6 months), Graduate Diploma (1 year), Masters Degree (1 - 2 years), and PhD (4 - 5 years). Also, note that Australia is a leader in MBAs and other business courses in the world.

Costs of Study
For a single student, approximately AUS $ 12,000 to AUS $ 17,000 is required for living expenses such as accommodation, food, transport, textbooks and some spending money. Yearly tuition costs may vary depending on study programs - Vocational Education and Training (VET): AUS $ 5500 to AUS $ 18000, Technical and Further Education (TAFE): AUS $ 5500 to AUS $ 18000, Foundation Studies: AUS $ 9000 to AUS $ 14000, Bachelor Degree: A$10 000–A$13 500 (based on arts, accounting, business and management, and at the higher range, on law courses), Laboratory-based Bachelor Degree: A$11 000–A$16 500 (based on science and engineering courses), Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma: A$9000–A$16 000, Masters and Doctoral Degrees: A$11 000–A$18 500, MBAs: AUS $ 18,000 to AUS $ 48000.
Most universities and colleges have employment services that willl help you find a job. If you get one, it will obviously reduce your total costs of study. International students can work up to 20 hours each week during semester, and full-time during vacation periods. If you are studying Master or doctorate courses under subclass 574, your work hours will not be retricted to a limit.
Financial Aid/Scholarships
While studying in Australia, you will need sufficient funds to cover your living expenses, health insurance as well as tuition and fees of the university/college. So, a scholarship can provide great help with funds for your study. Scholarships are very competitive, however they are definitely worth investigating. Admissions
In general, the academic year in Australia starts late February and finishes in November. Many universities and colleges also accept enrolments in July. Few Universities offer admission in September & November as well. It is suggested that you should start making applications ideally 7-8 months prior to the intake. University generally takes around 4-6 weeks to process the applications. Documents needed for making an application are resume, statement of purpose, mark sheets and passing certificates from 10th onwards, two reference letters form colleges / employers and passport copy & IELTS/TOEFL score sheet.
